BEST OF BREED WMS SOLUTION BY THE RIC GROUP
Recently at The RIC Group we have had quite a large SAP Business One customer Chromagen go live with our SBO4 PDA product. SBO4 PDA is an integrated warehouse management solution for scan picking and packing, goods receiving, stock transfers, stocktaking and proof of delivery. Chromagen needed a solution to work with SAP Business One V9.x and needed the ability to scan serial numbers. Multiple pickers scan pick the products from different locations and the business need was to be able to automatically create the delivery document once the picker had complete the pick. SBO4 PDA delivered on all requirements. Braemar Hospital who are based in Hamilton New Zealand needed a complex purchase order solution for their requirements integrated with MYOB EXO. Purchase Orders from different areas of the business had to be consolidated by supplier, and then compared to stock in an existing store room. EXO4 PDA delivered this by capturing all the information from mobile PDA handhelds, and sending this back to a database. From here The RIC Group used its Mobile + Centre software to show the information to the user. They can then see all the products which had been scanned including the quantity the user had put in for order. The user can then see what stock was in the store room and then adjust the order quantity appropriately. Then once completed, the user can then select the purchase order and it would be imported into MYOB EXO, and sent to the supplier. The complex project was delivered on time and on budget. Delivery Management System17/4/2015 RUNS
Recently we have seen an increase in businesses seeking the help of The RIC Group to help with Delivery Management. Many of our customers using ERP's such as MYOB Advanced, MYOB EXO or SAP Business One want an easier way to electronically view the deliveries for the day. From here the need is to be able to allocate or have pre allocated the delivery for the runs. Customers will want to allocate the runs for their own drivers and also their external drivers. When a customer shows me how they sort runs for their delivery driver to prepare the delivery manifest, this is purely done with pieces of paper. All the delivery notes are printed out, and then the operations manager sorts through all the pieces of paper, and puts them into a tray for the driver. With so many pieces of paper it leads to errors and a lot of time being used up. I also see that with the pieces of paper in a tray, an operations manager then would manually input the data into an excel spreadsheet to create a run manifest for the driver. Our Run Management Software is an electronic whiteboard which gives the user flexibility to sort the runs and then use the drag and drop method to allocate to runs. The run managemenet software can look at sales orders, delivery documents or invoices in the ERP system. The user can view each run, and then drag and drop to another run. From here they can sort the run and also have the ability to keep the mouse over the sales order or invoice and it will tell the user the products in the order. The user can record notes against each delivery such as 'deliver before 4pm', sort the manifest in order, and then print the driver run sheet. Once the run sheet is printed, the driver can deliver the goods. There is an extention to our run management software which allows for integration with Proof of Delivery (sign on glass). Because our run management software looks at the deliveries or invoices directly from the ERP (Accounting Database) it has all the information for the operations manager to make their decision when organising their runs. For one of our customers it use to take them 6 hours a day arranging the 12 runs they had. This has now been cut down to an hour using our run management software. It has freed up 5 hours a day or 25 hours a week for the operations manager to concentrate on other operational tasks. Also, it has given far greater auditibility as all information integrates with the ERP (Accounting system). Feel free to give us a call at The RIC Group if you are interested in looking at streamlining your delivery run management system. |
