Our WMS can use the Service Layer which was previously only available for SAP HANA and is now available for SAP Business One 10.0 PL01 and later.
There is quite a large difference in technology between the Service Layer and DI API. The DI API derives from Microsoft COM technology and fits best in the Windows native environment. Service Layer is an OData-compliant data service with a smoother learning curve, which enables easy Web Mashup, or effortless add-on development in various languages (Java, JavaScript, .Net) using 3rd-party libraries. The Service Layer provides lightweight and faster results and simple transactions and RESTful. We have had a number of customers upgrade to SAP Business One V10 and our WMS and TMS is working well using the Service Layer. We aren't experience any issues with patch levels. With the Service Layer it adds a lot of flexibility for our customers as you can have SAP Business One and the Warehouse Management Solution implemented on completely different environments.
