WMS for SAP Business One

WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

Implementation of a Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) is often complex. Project planning is critical to the success of any WMS implementation, and in fact any software implementation. One of the factors which occurs during a WMS implementation is the business is still shipping products whilst the WMS is being implemented.

When implementing an add on product such as a WMS there can often be multiple parties involved with the project. There is the customer, WMS supplier, ERP provider, IT partner and even an EDI provider. With multiple parties involved in the project all in different ways, everyone has to remember that the customer is the most important party. Everyone has to work together to ensure the project is implemented as smooth as possible.

Having said this one of the most important parts of a WMS implementation is testing. The customer really needs to ensure that a number of tests are run while on a test database to try to ensure when Live a lot of the issues have already been raised and fixed. During the testing the employees starting to see there is several changes in processes. In the short term these changes can see hard, however, in the long run it all pays off and the return on an investment is better accruacy, more efficiency and auditibility.

Recently The RIC Group has implemented two successful SAP Business One sites in Queensland. Fibrecycle who has two locations and implemented The RIC Group's WMS to have a WMS all integrated with SAP Business One to ensure much better processes around EDI. Now they use one system which is SAP Business One, with our WMS. All data is held in SAP Business One. The second implementation was Bronson Safety. They did not have a WMS, so was looking to increase accuracy and also introduce efficiency by having a Star Track integration. The RIC Group's WMS did all of this and ensured a smooth transition from the manual system.
